Get the exact HIP scene that was used to simulate and render all promo videos on this website. Learn production proven workflows, industry standard naming conventions and “good” habbits of organizing scenes. Input your own fractured geometry and get your demo reel going!
Learn how to simulate concrete with Bullet RBD solver. Art direct the look with animated attributes, constraints and SOP Solvers.
Add extra detail to Primary sim with millions of tiny debris. Emit based on acceleration and separation. Use InstanceProxyWriter HDA to build procedural debris library. Prepare delayed load geometry for point instancing in Arnold and Mantra.
Use set of HDA nodes to help you with preparing geometry for RBD simulation, constraints, instancing, convex decomposition, Bullet attributes management, edge fracturing and more! Dive in and edit as you need.
Every step is commented and described. Nodes are color coded and named properly.
Easy to follow network flow will guide you through the process.
Mantra and Arnold
Scene is ready to render with Mantra and Arnold. Learn how to use global variables to switch geometry based on ROP used for rendering. Leverage Arnold denoising ROP to render your scene faster! Generate video files after Flipbooking and Rendering. Explore material style sheets for Mantra material assignments.
Free Shelftools with CrusherSOP hotkeys, caching tool and update toggle. Enjoy!
Get your hands on file caches from all RBD sims in promo video of CrusherSOP. See what kind of result you can get, have a play with lighting and rendering it. Scene is prepared for Mantra and Arnold. Its the same scene as HIP scene available for purchase, but has only file caches and render ROPs. No textures and material style sheets.
Only in Studio edition you are able to see contents. In HDA and Complete edition, editing and diving inside HDA is locked.
Yes, all HDAs in HIP Scene product are unlocked and free to edit and use for personal or commercial purposes.
All products on this website come with Indie license. If you open them in Houdini Core or FX, you wont be able to save scene in full commercial mode.

There are few ways to get HDA into Houdini. Here are two easiest:
- From Assets -> Install Asset Library…
- Copy all *.hdalc files to “otls” folder in your User Houdini folder.
Windows, Linux and MaxOS.
- Houdini 16.5.498
Hotkeys are binded via Shelf tools. You can edit hotkey just like for any Houdini Shelf Tool.
To install provided Shelf with predefined CrusherSOP tools, copy CrusherSOP.shelf file to “toolbar” folder in your User Houdini folder.
Please make a support post and include hip file, together with steps to reproduce crash. Most cases can be traced down to the root of the cause and properly addressed. I can fix CrusherSOP code immediately, if its native Houdini problem, I can follow up with SideFx to seek their assistance.
Of course! New features and improvement ideas are always welcome. Please make a support post and I will follow up from there.
For CrusherSOP HDA, I offer bug fixing and implementing new features that will add value to the product.
For HIP Scene, I do not offer any support. I cannot help you with your setups or extend beyond what is already in hip file.
- Houdini 17.5.258
- Arnold 4.1.0
- Deadline 10.0.23.4
- Laptop with i7-3610QM and 24GB Ram
- Lots of patience and love
This node suffers from nondeterministic behavior. Combination of Compiled For Loop, Remesh SOP and Boolean, yields different result during each Houdini session. When you send batch job on the farm (even local scheduler), you might get different result. Visaully all results will look correct, but point order or count might vary. It has been reported to SESI in March 2019, [SESI #76232].
